Why We Built the Hardy Coffee App

Last fall, our team started talking about what it might look like to have an app for Hardy. The conversation began, of all places, with our membership program—a beautiful group of our most loyal customers, held together by a keychain, a digital punchcard, and a series of emails that sometimes made it to everyone’s inbox.

The program had grown steadily over the years, but the system behind it hadn’t kept pace. We knew we could do better—and we started dreaming.

What if we could improve the membership experience and create something helpful for every customer? A better way to browse the menu. To order ahead—for yourself, your coworkers, or your kid’s entire soccer team.

We’ve always known that Hardy isn’t the easiest stop for everyone. We’re a little off the beaten path. Parking can be tricky at our Benson and downtown shops. Mornings are busy. But what if technology could help bridge that gap?

Could you choose our small business more often if the wait time was more predictable?

And then we thought about rewards. Could we track them seamlessly across locations? Let you earn points for every visit, whether you’re ordering in-store or online? Could we offer real perks without asking you to choose between supporting a local business and a global chain?

This app isn’t a competition to see how fast our baristas can make a latte.  It’s not about cutting corners or being less present with you in the store.  It’s our attempt to keep pace with the best parts of technology on your behalf.

At its heart, it’s truly about hospitality.
Serving you how you’d like to be served.

You’ve always preferred supporting local. But let’s be honest—sometimes a trip to Hardy felt like a luxury reserved for a leisurely weekend. We hope this app makes it just a little easier to choose local, more often.

So we spent months building it.
Photographing. Testing. Writing and rewriting. Training our team. Preparing for launch.
And now it’s here.

We’ve spent months building, testing, rewriting, photographing, training, and preparing.
And now we’re ready. Nervous? Absolutely.
But it’s time to invite you in.

Try it out. Let us know what works—and what doesn’t.
We’re listening.
